WiFi upgrade progress in VSSC and VMCB

Early upgrades for phase 3 of the student WiFi project were completed over the past couple weeks. Student Services and the Student Resources Center plus the McClaskey Building received new 1Gbs-capable switches and new "AC" access points to immediately improve coverage, connectivity, and capacity within those buildings.

As it has been since he took over the project prior to phase 1, Marty Randolph played the primary role in the planning, configuration, and installation of the new WiFi equipment. In addition, you should know that student worker Becca Daniel also played an active and impactful part in this launch just as she did in Spring's phase 2. Marty and Becca may not be the most recognizable faces on campus, but their work is truly appreciated.

Later this summer, more WiFi improvements funded by the Student Tech Fee will be deployed for phase 3, but this week is another milestone moment in the continual efforts to meet ever-expanding WiFi needs on campus.
