Weather advisory: Potential campus disruptions Friday and campus closure for the three-day weekend

A significant weather event is forecasted for Friday, Jan. 12 starting in the afternoon or evening and extending through the long weekend. Around noon tomorrow, precipitation is expected, which could manifest as freezing rain or snow.

On Friday, WSU Vancouver will follow regular protocols and assess conditions as they unfold. If snow or freezing rain begins before the end of the school/work day, WSU Vancouver will likely cease operations so everyone can get home safely.

Supervisors are encouraged to allow non-essential staff, capable of working remotely, to do so on Friday.

If you have not opted in to receive alerts from WSU Vancouver, go to myWSU to register your contact information. Sign in and choose “Emergency Notification.” Click on “Update Now!” and complete the requested information.

Due to the expected inclement weather persisting through the weekend, campus will be closed Saturday through the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday. This includes:

  • Library
  • Labs in Clark College, Engineering and Computer Science, Science and Engineering and the Multimedia Classroom buildings

Facilities will provide access to campus for research animal care from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday through Monday.
