Zoned Out

Intricate pen patterns.Zoned Out features a selection of drawings created over the two and a half years following art school graduation. What began as mindless line doodles on notebook paper during phone calls and class lectures quickly developed into a process that was fueled by a reflective state of mind. Abstract forms grow slowly out of repetitive mark making, and each piece yields a meditative effect on the artist from its creation.

Artist Statement

Jellyfish screenprint.I strive to portray the anxiety caused by life’s pulsing moments. Influenced by Minimalism but driven by obsession, these painted and printed works represent uneasy feelings. Through the accumulation of repetitive lines, dots, and opaque layers, visual tension is portrayed in a contained space.
