WSU Vancouver’s Business Growth MAP Alliance hosts forum on talent management

VANCOUVER, WASH. — Learn strategies for attracting and retaining good employees at the January MAP Alliance forum on Jan. 15 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Columbia Bank Community Room, 101 E. 6th St., Vancouver.

The speaker is Gabrielle “Gabi” Stonecypher, who is chief geek and senior HR consultant for Gorge HR in Vancouver. In her talk, “Talent Management: Attracting and Retaining Awesome People,” she will address such questions as:

  • When should businesses hire new staff?
  • How can business owners attract awesome talent?
  • What can business owners do to retain talent?

Stonecypher has more than 15 years of experience in human resources and a passion for helping small businesses shine. Her varied industry background has helped her gain expertise in benefit plan design, manager and employee coaching and development, training and strategic planning.

The forum is open to all. Register online at business.vancouver.wsu.edu/bgmap and click the link “Upcoming events.” Cost is $10 per person. There is no cost for students with a valid WSU student ID.

The Business Growth MAP Alliance brings together small businesses and entrepreneurs to learn from each other, industry experts and WSU Vancouver faculty.
