Permit display and usage

Unless parked legally at a meter or in a time zone, proper display of a valid permit or receipt from the daily pay lot is required in all vehicles parked on the WSU Vancouver campus Monday - Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. year round, including summer semester.

  • Annual, semester, and quarter permits must be displayed in the interior lower left-hand side of the windshield when parking in the allowable lots (see chart below).
  • All hangtag permits should be displayed face out on the rear view mirror or on the dashboard in a clearly visible location.
  • Online daily permits should be printed on paper that allows the permit to be clearly seen and displayed face up on the dashboard of the vehicle, with dates and allowable location visible from the exterior.

All parking permits must be displayed in the approved position on the vehicle with permit numbers and relevant dates visible. Vehicles with permits which are not displayed in accordance with the provisions of this section are subject to parking tickets for the violation of improperly displaying a permit. See WAC 504-19-520.

Parking permits are not valid in lieu of payment at meters, in the daily pay lot, or in timed visitor and reserved parking areas. Permit holders may park in their assigned lot as reflected by the designated lot color on their permit or they may park in other allowable zones only as described in the WSU Vancouver parking regulations. See WAC 504-19.

Parking permits are only transferable between the permit holder's vehicles (including rental vehicles). Even though your vehicle information may be on file with the Parking Services office, a valid permit or daily pay receipt must be clearly displayed in your vehicle as stated above when parked on campus in order to be in compliance with state law and avoid issuance of citations.
