Campus Firewall Upgrades March 13 & 14

In the ongoing effort to improve security and resilience of the campus network, there will be service and maintenance work completed on the network firewall between 6:00 – 7:30 am March 13 & 14. This work may result in intermittent minor network outages lasting just 20 seconds to a couple minutes. The goal of this work is to realign firewall and network connections in preparations for increasing firewall availability by removing a potential single point of failure in the existing system. Impact on services:
  • Connectivity from campus to the internet or WSU services
  • Connectivity to local services such as the web servers or fileshares
  • Ability to send/receive phone calls including 5-digit dialing
Services NOT impacted include:
  • Blackboard
  • MyWSU
  • WSU Email
  • Office365
  • OneDrive
  • Other system wide services
