Covid-19 related changes to tech resources

Is the campus closed?

No, the campus is open at this time but courses are online-only through the end of the semester.

How do I access my courses online?

Courses are delivered via Blackboard or Canvas, depending on the course. If you're confused about which system is used for your courses, log in to MyWSU and check the "Canvas or Blackboard" tile - it will tell you where each course resides. Additionally, Zoom is used for videoconference-based lecture delivery and other communication. Some instructors use different systems; In those cases, your instructor will tell you how to access course materials.

What if I don't have a computer at home?

Campus computer labs are minimally open for the time being - the Library computer lab (LIB102) is open while the Library remains open but the MMC lab is closed at this time. The Library open area computers are also available as long as the Library remains open. Additionally, the Library has some additional amount of laptops for student checkout.

What if I don't have an internet connection at home?

WSU Pullman's office of the Provost has a system for students to check out wifi hotspots. Visit the wifi hotspot sign-up page to put in a request. If the page notes that all hotspots are currently checked out, you should fill out the form anyway as they are continuously getting hotspots back and redeploying them as students return them.

What do I do if my classes require special software?

Some software is available through AppStream, a virtual desktop delivery system that Vancouver IT maintains, thanks to the student technology fee. Additionally, Adobe Creative Cloud is available through AppStream or for download on your own computer if you are enrolled in a course that requires its use. If you are in such a course, just download the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app, log in with your WSU email address, and then download the programs you need through the app. For information about other software, ask your instructor about available ways of using the software.
