Vancouver IT manages two computer labs that are available for student use. For Fall 2020, both of these labs are closed. Computers in the open area of the Library are the only on-campus computers that are available at this time. We plan to open one or both of the below labs once it is safe to do so. While these labs are closed, some alternatives for student use are laptops, which may be checked out from the Library circulation desk (when available) or, if you have your own computer but need access to some of the software that is only available on campus, Apporto provides some of this software through a virtual desktop session. Lab information is below for future use:
Library (VLIB) room 102 (off to the right as you enter the library) - (360) 546-9546 - CLOSED FALL 2020
Normal hours: 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, noon – 6 p.m. Sunday.
WInter Break: The library lab is open whenever the library is open, so check the library hours website for the most up-to-date hours
Note: A lab assistant is on duty 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday. When a lab assistant is not on duty, library staff can help with printing problems but they are not trained to help with other problems in the lab.
Multimedia (VMMC) room 101 - (360) 546-9543 - CLOSED FALL 2020
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday
Winter Break: The MMC lab is closed throughout winter break and in general is closed whenever class is not in session.
The Library manages the computers in the general Library area (straight ahead as you enter the Library), which are available for anyone to use but do not have some of the specialized software that is loaded on the student lab computers.
Clark students should use room 202 in the Clark building, open Monday-Friday 9:10 - 5:30pm.
Printing to the library printers is free for Fall 2020. Simply send your print job to a printer (black and white or color) and it will print. During normal times, you would first put money on your student I.D. card through the cashier in the Student Services building or online through Cougar Cash Deposit. Prices are normally $.04 per side for black and white printing or copies (Library copy room only) or $.35 per side for color prints (LB 102 lab only).
If you do not have a student I.D. card, you may get a print card from the Library circulation desk. Add value to print cards using the re-value station located near the reference desk.
Wireless printing: You may also print wirelessly from your laptop by using the wireless printing system.
