Summary of Duties:
The Student Advisor is responsible for the advising, mentoring and leadership development of clubs, Student Activities Board and ASWSUV Election Board, additional supervision opportunities available.
This position is responsible for providing individual and organization leadership development; administrative oversight of student organization and event budgets; implementation of policies and procedures; and supports student life.
The position plans and implements large scale programs and represents OSI on campus-wide committees.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Must have three (3) years experience advising students and/or providing services to students.
Master’s Degree in Student Affairs, Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field.
Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures to professional duties.
One year advising student organizations (i.e. clubs, media organizations, student government, etc.) on organizational development, leadership development, budget management, risk management, etc.
Demonstrated experience creating and delivering training for student organizations and individual students.
Experience planning and implementing large-scale events/programs.
