Welfare of students and/or suspicious behavior

1. What should I do if I have concerns about the general health and well-being of a student?

If you are concerned about a student it can be helpful to simply check in with them to see how they are doing and express your concern. In some instances you may want to remind them of the free counseling services on campus. An additional option is to report your concerns about their well-being through our online AWARE-Academic Alert website.

2. Is there anything students can do if they have concerns about the general health and welfare of another student?

Yes, members of the campus community can report concerns about students at the AWARE-Academic Alert website.

3. What if there is an emergency concern for a student?

Call 911 if there is an immediate possibility that a student may harm her/himself or others.

4. What if I am concerned about potential danger due to suspicious activities and/or mannerisms from a student?

The AWARE-Academic Alert website can be used to report a student who shows signs of potential dangerous behavior. Call 911 if there is an immediate possibility that a student may harm her/himself or others.
