Employee Resource Groups

Employee Resource Groups at WSU Vancouver are voluntary employee-led groups that foster a community and climate of equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging and justice. WSU Vancouver ERGs increase capacity for equity-minded institutional change and promote an ethical and socially just society through an intentional commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. Accordingly, membership of all ERGs is open to all WSU Vancouver staff and faculty. All ERG members will understand and commit to uplifting the purpose of ERGs they choose to join, which include but is not limited to:

  1. Elevating visibility, empowerment, bridge-building, leadership and promotion of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+ and historically underrepresented faculty and staff at WSU Vancouver.
  2. Facilitating authentic professional partnerships among Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+ and historically underrepresented faculty and staff and the at-large WSU Vancouver community.
  3. Championing strategic efforts to recruit, hire, retain and promote Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+ and historically underrepresented faculty and staff.
  4. Hosting affirming spaces and community building for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+ and historically underrepresented faculty and staff.
  5. Creating networks of awareness and support for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+ and historically underrepresented faculty and staff.

All prospective ERGs are required to complete the BaCE workshop, Spaces of Affinity: How to Start an ERG at WSU Vancouver. During this session, prospective ERGs will have the opportunity to create and submit an ERG charter application for formal recognition. If you are interested in learning more about ERGs or starting a new ERG on campus for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+ and/or historically underrepresented faculty and staff, email Elisha Hardekopf at elisha.hardekopf@wsu.edu or complete an ERG Interest form.
