For staff, faculty and administrators, at least two workshops per academic year are recommended: one each in fall, spring and/or summer. Workshops range from 1 to 2 hours. To earn the BaCE Professional Development Certificate, participants must complete a least 12 hours of program offerings.
Participants start with the Intercultural Development Inventory pre-assessment to determine their current level of cultural awareness and to inform their workshop selections. Then, participants complete workshops from Groups 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The program also provides opportunities to continue conversation and action building through informal workshops and equity luncheon forums (both of which apply toward Group 4 of the offerings). These events will be initiated at the discretion of workshop facilitators.
Finally, participants register for the Intercultural Development Inventory post-assessment to measure their cultural awareness and growth.
Note: Each participant who completed the spring 2017 workshop, BaCE 101: Getting the Conversation Started, will have 2 hours already applied toward completion of the BaCE Professional Development Certificate.
