Introducing Two Sweet Ways to Celebrate Great Work
The chancellor supports two fun and meaningful ways to recognize the outstanding contributions of employees. Whether someone has sparked innovation or gone above and beyond, there's now a delicious way to say thank you.
One Smart Cookie Award
Some people just have the recipe for innovation. The One Smart Cookie Award recognizes employees who have shared creative ideas that help the university save time, money or other valuable resources.
Who’s eligible?
All employees—faculty, administrative professionals, civil service, classified staff and student employees.
Who can nominate?
Anyone from the groups listed above! If you’ve seen someone bring forward a smart, resourceful idea—let us know.
What do recipients receive?
Winners will get a cookie, delivered with a personal note from the Chancellor’s Office. They’ll also be recognized in Campus FYI and may be honored at a future State of the Campus address.
You Take the Cake Award
When someone knocks it out of the park—whether by leading a big project, solving a tough challenge or simply doing excellent work—they deserve a celebration. The You Take the Cake Award honors individuals or teams who have truly gone above and beyond.
Who’s eligible?
All employees—faculty, administrative professionals, civil service, classified staff and student employees.
Who can nominate?
Anyone! If someone made your day, saved the day or just quietly does incredible work, don’t wait—nominate!
What do recipients receive?
A celebratory cake (yes, cake!) delivered by the Chancellor’s Office with a congratulatory note. Recipients will also be featured in Campus FYI and may be recognized during a State of the Campus event.

It’s easy! Nominations can be submitted anytime. All entries are reviewed by the chief of staff upon receipt. Whether it’s a sweet solution or a job well done, let’s shine a spotlight on the people who make WSU Vancouver exceptional.
