Tips for students taking classes via videoconference

HOMEWORK

All homework turned into the operatorsmust have:
Your Name
Instructor's Name
Course Name and Course Number.
We recommend you keep an extra copy of your submitted material. Homework must be turned in when the professor requests. If it is handed in late, it must be marked with the date/time the operator received it.

HANDOUTS

Handouts will be distributed when the instructor calls for them. If you miss a class or need another copy, please contact your operator in Classroom building room 120 or call 546-9033.

VIDEOTAPES

The class lectures are routinely videotaped and, if approved by the instructor, the tapes are stored in the library. Tapes are generally held for two weeks, then recycled to record more lectures. They are primarily intended for students who miss class due to illness, emergencies, etc. The tapes are not intended to take the place of attending class. The library can help you with viewing procedures and policies. WSU Vancouver Library: 546-9680.

MICROPHONES

Videoconferencing is fully interactive. The microphones are always on. Other sites can hear comments (even whispering). Don't say anything you wouldn't want everyone to hear. When speaking, normal conversational voice levels are sufficient. PLEASE do not tap on the microphones or place books/paper on the microphones. This causes audio disturbances.
