How To Find Reserve Materials Through Griffin
Items are sometimes placed on reserve by faculty for specific classes. These items are either placed on e-reserve or print reserve. Items placed on e-reserve can be accessed online with a password and directions provided by your professor. Items placed on print reserve need to be checked out from the Library.
To determine what items are available on reserve for a specific class, you can click on Course Reserves from the Library's homepage. Then you can search for reserves by either course or instructor.
Search by Course
Courses are listed by specific prefixes. For example, "English" courses can be found using "Engl". The Course Prefix Listing defines these prefixes. To search for reserves by course:
- Select Search by course from the Course Reserves page.
- Type in the course prefix and course number. For example: engl 101
- If there are multiple sections of the course with reserve items available, select the appropriate section. Note: Sometimes the listing will include which campus a section is offered on. Be sure to choose the appropriate campus.
- A list of any items on reserve will be listed.
- Items available in print will include a call number and will indicate if the item is "ON SHELF" and available for checkout, or will list a due date if checked out by someone.
- If there are items on electronic reserve, you will see a link that says "***Electronic Reserves (click here)***". Note: To access these you will need a password from your professor.
Search by Instructor
Reserve items are also findable by searching for a specific instructor. To do this:
