Locating Electronic Journals and Fulltext Articles
WSU Vancouver Library subscribes to thousands of fulltext, electronic journals. These journals are available in a variety of ways, including through databases and through journal / publisher homepages.
If you are looking for the fulltext of a specific journal:
Look up the journal name in Griffin to see if the WSU Libraries subscribe to the journal either in print or electronically. To do this:
- Go to Griffin, select "Journals, Magazines, Newspapers".
- Next, select "Journal Title" and enter the name of the journal you are looking for. If online, electronic access if available, Griffin will often include a link to the online access.
Check the E-Journals Search page. This list includes thousands of journals licensed by all the WSU Libraries. To find the journal you need, do a title search for the journal name or browse the list by selecting a letter of the alphabet at the top of the page. Each journal entry indicates which campus has access to the journal and what years are available online. Note: We do not have access to all of these journals. Pay special attention to which campus has access.
If you are looking for fulltext articles on a specific subject:
The library subscribes to more than 100 databases on a variety of subjects, some of which include fulltext articles. To locate fulltext articles on your topic, choose a database from the Fulltext Databases list or the All Databases list. These databases contain many fulltext articles.
Keep in mind some important things:
Sometimes the databases do not contain the fulltext version of articles that you need. If you find an article of interest that is not available fulltext in the database, look for the "Locate Document" or "Find It" buttons or icons. "Find It" will show you if the article is available fulltext anywhere else.
Remember there are many ways to obtain a journal article. If you cannot find it fulltext, check Griffin to see if we own the journal in print. If it is not available online or in print at the WSU Vancouver Library, you can order a copy using the ILLiad Request Forms. We can locate journal articles and other materials from libraries across the region for you.
