Reserves Information
Guidelines for Placing Materials on Reserve
Reserves are heavily used items requested by instructors for assigned class readings. They are kept at the Reserves Desk, located beside the Circulation Desk, or made available online. Because of the demand for these items, loan periods are shortened, fine rates are higher, and materials cannot be "recalled". There are no renewals on reserve items.
Guidelines
- Each item must be accompanied by either an electronic reserve form or a hardcopy reserve form (pdf) before we can process items.
- WSU Vancouver Library will seek copyright permissions for you. The Library will contact you with any publisher charges that may be incurred. Upon your approval, your department will be charged accordingly and item(s) will be processed.
- Once your electronic reserves have been posted, you will be emailed the course record link and access information you will need to provide your students with. (The library can not give this information to your students.)
- In order for your students to locate your reserve items, it is ESSENTIAL that you refer to the items on your syllabus using the same words that you have used in the "Title" box on the Reserve form.
- In general, we do not place required text books on reserve. (These are text books that students are required to purchase for the duration of the course.)
- Students may checkout up to three items at a time.
- Allow up to 2 weeks for processing (minimum of 48 business hours).
