About the Library
The WSU Vancouver branch campus library collection presently has over 20,000 book titles and 9,000 print and electronic journal subscriptions. Business, education, psychology, humanities and nursing are the primary subjects covered.
Other local library resources are: the Clark College Library, the Fort Vancouver Regional Library system, and PORTALS (the Portland Area Library System,) a consortium of fifteen higher education and public libraries in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area. In addition, the library is part of the Orbis/Cascade Alliance, a consortium of thirty-one libraries in the Oregon and Washington.
The WSU online catalog, Griffin, is available at computer workstations in the Library. For journal literature searching, the library subscribes to over 110 electronic indexes and databases, some of which provide fulltext access to journal literature. For a complete list of these indexes, browse the Databases and Electronic Resources page.
Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan services are available for WSU Vancouver students, faculty and staff. Document delivery is the process of obtaining books and copies of journal articles from other libraries in the WSU Libraries system. Interlibrary loan services obtain items outside of the WSU library system. More information about these services can be found on the Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan page.
