Spam Filters for Eudora Email

The simplest filters are those that transfer incoming messages to a particular mailbox based on the subject of the message, the sender of the message, or one or more of the recipients. For example, each time you check your mail, you may want to have Eudora take all of the incoming messages that have been marked as ***spam*** and automatically transfer them into a mailbox you’ve called "spam.” To get Eudora to do this, you set up a simple filter.

Step One: The Make Filter Dialog box
1. Open Eudora.
2. Click on the Tools menu.
3. Click on Filters
4. Click on the New button at the bottom of the filters screen.

Step Two: Setting up the Filter

  1. Click on the checkbox for Incoming.
  2. Click on the dropdown menu under the Header section.
  3. Click on Subject.
  4. Click on the next dropdown menu right below the header area.
  5. Click on contains.
  6. Type ***spam*** in the text box next to the "contains" box.
  7. Click on the first dropdown menu under the Actions section.
  8. Click on Transfer To.
  9. Click on the raised button to the right of the Transfer To field. A list of your eudora mailboxes will popup.
  10. Click on the mailbox you have created for your filtered spam, or click on the New option and create a mailbox for your filtered spam.
  11. Close the Filter screen. You will be asked if you want to save changes to the filters.
  12. Click the Yes button and you have now filtered your mail.
