Dr. Harold A. Dengerink, Chancellor of WSU Vancouver, escorted Sen. Cantwell into VMMC 6, and the room immediately quieted in anticipation of a thorough discussion of higher education policy plans for the upcoming debate in the US Senate. As everyone took their seats and did a mic check and discovered that some mics were not working well, Sen. Cantwell showed her leadership skills in solving the problem quickly by offering innovative solutions.

Are you wondering about the big red and white sign at the WSUV driveway entrance? It’s a picket by the local carpenter’s union, alleging that Delta Drywall, a company that is “slated to perform drywall work” at WSUV, is a tax cheat. Delta Drywall will be working on the new Undergraduate Classroom Building, currently under construction.

Professor Susan Ingram hopes to have a complete neuroscience majors program in place by fall 2009. “All the classes except the core classes for a neuroscience major are available at the Vancouver campus, and we have the faculty to teach them,” Ingram said. “We are currently working on the approval process for the university.”
