Nick Ferderer President

Nick Ferderer knows the 2009-2010 school year will be great and is excited to be serving as President! He wants people to know about ASWSUV, about what they do on campus, in the community, and at the state level. Last year ASWSUV did a great job building relationships with faculty and administration on campus as well as with other student governments throughout the state, all on behalf of students. He and Nicole, along with a stellar Executive team and proactive Senate will continue to develop these relationships so ASWSUV can better communicate student needs at all levels, provide new leadership development opportunities on campus, and lead the sustainability movement in the community.

Nick is a junior, double majoring in English and Public Affairs. In his free time he enjoys reading, exercising, people watching, spending time with family and friends, and working. If you see him walking to class, smile and wave because life is more fun that way!

Nicole Mousleh Vice President

Nicole is the current ASWSUV Vice President, and is excited to be serving students in such a dynamic and fun filled role. As a Finance major and Management Information Systems minor, Nicole has been attending classes at WSU Vancouver since fall of 2006 and was a part of the first freshman class. Previously Nicole has served the students and University as a Student Ambassador and Public Relations Director for ASWSUV.

Nicole is looking forward to an active year, filled with growth and enhanced communication within ASWSUV and the Student Body. She is excited for the various events and activities ASWSUV will be providing for its students and hopes students will continue to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities ASWSUV provides to them.

In her spare time Nicole loves to travel, spend time with friends, and relax!

Janine Johnston Activities Director

Janine Johnston is a junior majoring in Human Development and Public Affairs. After recently obtaining her AAS in Mental Health and Human Service at Mt Hood Community College in Gresham, she is excited to continue her education at WSU Vancouver. Janine has three years of student government experience at MHCC, most recently serving as the student body President.

As the new Activities Director, she is looking forward to strengthening the foundation of the Student Activities Board and using her past leadership experience to assist in their development. With three newly created positions: Special Events Coordinator, Seasonal Events Coordinator, and Multicultural Events Coordinator, there will be more opportunities for students to get involved and meet fellow cougars! She looks forward to larger events with an increase in participation and welcomes students to engage by sharing ideas and feedback.

Janine is passionate about her work with the American Red Cross. She has been actively volunteering with them for the past three years by coordinating blood drives in her community.

Tiffany Moore Leadership Development Director

Tiffany Moore is a junior pursuing a B.S. degree in biology, with a minor in human development. Ultimately, she wants to become an optometrist and volunteer her time not only locally, but on a global scale as well.

As leadership development director, Tiffany's main goals are to first develop strong leadership skills in the student body to prepare them for a promising future. Secondly, she would like to create a close community environment on campus where students feel comfortable with the leaders of ASWSUV. She is excited to see where this new position takes her, and how she can develop its strong foundation.

Tiffany loves to travel and learn about new cultures. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and running as well as spending time with her friends, family and new nephew!

Peter Sterr Director of Legislative Affairs

Peter Sterr currently serves ASWSUV as the Director of Legislative Affairs, but has held a variety of roles in his last three years at WSU Vancouver. Beginning his involvement as a Senator in 2006, Sterr made his way to ASWSUV Vice President, and then President, in which he served 1.5 years. He has also served the WSU Vancouver community in several clubs, including the Social & Environmental Justice Club, the Law Club, and the Zymurgists club. Sterr is very excited to take on his new role in ASWSUV, and looks forward to representing student interests in Olympia.

Sterr is also the Vice President of Communications for the Washington Student Association, a group dedicated to representing the interests of students in Washington State.

Sterr is a Public Affairs major, hoping to enter the political scene upon graduation. In his free time, Sterr serves his community as a Search and Rescue diver for the Southwest Washington Organization of Rescue Divers (SWORD) and rides his motorcycle.

Michael Hatch Public Relations Director

Michael is a senior pursuing a degree in Digital Technology and Culture. He started attending WSUV along with the campus' first batch of undergraduates in the Fall 2006, fresh out of high school. He has been involved at WSUV in various ways throughout his college career, notably serving as Managing Editor for the VanCougar in Spring 2009.

As PR Director, Michael is enthusiastic about bringing a greater awareness of ASWSUV and all that the organization does. Michael hopes to see a much greater number of students who know what ASWSUV does and are comfortable coming to us for questions, comments, and opposing viewpoints.

Michael was born in Covina, CA and moved to Vancouver after graduating from San Dimas High School. He has been designing web sites for local businesses and individuals since the age of 16, and plans to start a marketing firm with a few talented friends after obtaining an M.B.A. in Business Administration. He likes long walks on the beach, and loves playing card and board games.
