ROAR Program for Families and Parents of New Students
WSU Vancouver recognizes the support and assistance you provide your student. The transition to college impacts you as well as your student and we have designed a program just for you.
You are encouraged to attend the June or July program in conjunction with the Freshman Advising & Registration sessions. This is the only program offered to family/parents of new students and is open to those supporting all new students (freshmen and transfers) even though the corresponding student program is for freshman only.
Family Program
Share in the excitement of a new campus. Enjoy discussions and programs just for you. At ROAR, you can expect to:
- Interact with faculty and administration, including financial aid experts
- Gain a better understanding of family/student rights and expectations
- Explore WSU Vancouver's campus
- Find answers to many of your questions
- Meet other parents/family of new college students
There are two options for the Family Sessions and they coincide with the Advising & Registration sessions. Family members and students do not need to attend the same session. The dates for 2010 are scheduled for June 25 or July 30. Session reservations are not currently available; please check back for session details and agendas.
Students and family members sign up for their respective ROAR programs independently. New students must sign up for the ROAR program based on his/her incoming status. Go back to the main ROAR page.
Family Resources
The WSU Vancouver website includes many pages of helpful information. As the family member of a new student the following pages will be helpful to you.
We encourage you to view these pages whether you can attend Family ROAR or not.
