WSU Vancouver Options
24 Hour Advice Nurse
Fee: None
An advice nurse is available in Pullman 24 hours a day to offer health and wellness services. The advice nurse can be reached using any campus courtesy phone by dialing 5-3575 and off-campus by dialing
(509) 335-3575.
Student Health Insurance
Fee: Moderate
A medical insurance plan is available for WSU Vancouver students and their dependents. Students must be enrolled in seven or more credits to be eligible. The plan offers a choice of coverage by the semester or a full year. This plan provides major medical coverage at a moderate price. Brochures are available in the Office of Student Affairs, VSSB 200.
Mental Health Services
Fee: No Cost (first five visits)
On campus: A professional counselor is available for counseling appointments on campus three days per week. Please leave a voicemail message at (360) 546-9446 for an appointment.
Off campus: The University will pay for a student's first five visits with a counseling agency during the academic year. Contact Jessica Nelson at (360) 546-9567 or Nancy Youlden at (360) 546-9571 for a referral form.
Clark College Health Services
Fee: $10 per visit
WSU Vancouver students may access the Clark College Health Services Clinic to receive medical consultation with a nurse or nurse practitioner. There may be additional charges for lab tests and immunizations. Call (360) 992-2264 for more information.
State/Community Options
New Heights Medical Clinic
Fee: None
NHMC offers medical care for persons without medical insurance or for persons with high deductibles. The clinic is located at 8000 NE 58th Street. Call (360) 694-0355 for hours of service or an appointment.
Seamar Community Health Center
Fee: Based on income
SCHC offers no or low cost medical and dental services. Verification of income is required and visits are by appointment only. The dental clinic is located at 1412 NE 88th Street. Call (360) 574-4074 for an appointment. The medical clinic is located at 7410 Delaware Lane. Call (360) 896-5128 for an appointment.
Free Clinic of SW Washington
Fee: None
The clinic serves people with low or no income who do not have medical insurance or other means to get medical care. This is a first-come, first-serve clinic - no appointments. The clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings with sign-ins beginning at 6:00pm, and Wednesday mornings with sign-ins beginning at 8:30am. Free children's immunizations are every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol screenings are available every Friday from 9:30am to 11:am–fasting is required 8 hours prior to testing.
There are no services for STDs, mental health or family planning. The dental and vision clinic is by appointment only. For more information, please call (360) 313-1390 between the hours of 9:00am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday. The clinic is located at 4100 Plomondon St in the Jim Parsley Center.
WA State Basic Health Plan
Fee: Based on income

Women & Children Options
Washington Breast and Cervical Health Program
Fee: None
SWWMC offers free women's health exams, including mammograms and pap tests to women over 40 years old who do not have medical insurance covering women's health care. There may also be a grant available for women under 40 for breast concerns. For more information, call (360) 514-1663 or (800) 992-1817.
State of Washington (Just for Children)
Fee: None (if eligible)
This insurance is offered through the state and provides free medical care to children from infancy to 19 years, and to pregnant women, if eligible. To determine eligibility call (877) 543-7669.
