Transfer Awards
As a transfer student at Washington State University you may have opportunities to apply for and receive various award programs. In addition to the WSU Vancouver and University-wide Scholarship applications (available in November), you may also be eligible to apply for, or receive, one of these additional awards:
L.M. Hidden Scholarship
The Hidden family, through the L.M. Hidden Charitable Trust Scholarship, has made scholarship money available to Washington State University Vancouver transfer students who are in any field of study leading to a bachelor's degree. The 08/09 scholarship deadline has passed. Please check back in March 2009 for the 09/10 scholarship application.
Community College President's Award
The program aims to recognize transfer students by acknowledging their accomplishments and offering opportunities for significant support toward their college education at Washington State University Vancouver. The award is designed for students who have leadership potential, are community service oriented, and who have a satisfactory grade point average (GPA). Students are nominated by their community college's President and receive a renewable full-tuition award.
Currently we accept nominations every year from Clark College, Lower Columbia College, Centralia College and Portland Community College (Cascade campus only). Contact your community college for additional nomination information.
Educational Opportunity Grant
This grant is awarded by the State of Washington to new transfer students with junior status that are financially needy, placebound and residents of Washington. For additional information and to download an application, visit the Higher Education Coordinating Board website.
