Diversity Internship
The Student Affairs Diversity Internship was developed to provide students with an opportunity to explore and support diversity as it applies to Student Affairs at WSU Vancouver. The intern will work closely with the Assistant Director for Student Diversity to assist in developing and implementing outreach and retention programs for diverse populations. Interns will also have the opportunity to focus on personal areas of interest related to diversity. One Student Affairs Diversity Intern is selected each academic year; the intern will be compensated with a partial or full tuition waiver.
Qualifications include:
- Strong organizational skills
- Interest in Student Affairs and commitment to diversity
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Available to work 9-12 hours/week throughout academic school year
- Good academic standing (minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA or above)
- Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits of WSU Vancouver coursework while serving as an intern
Responsibilities of Intern:
- Assist Assistant Director of Student Diversity in activities and programming
- Plan and promote multicultural activities and programming
- Represent WSU Vancouver at various student recruitment events
- Assist with on-campus and community outreach
- Complete a semester project (to be established with supervisor)
- Other duties as assigned
