Sociology
Undergraduate Degree
A major or minor in Sociology provides excellent preparation for careers in a variety of occupations, including public relations, teaching, positions in government, social service agencies, and industry. A concentration in Sociology also equips students with the necessary tools for understanding and evaluating social research. The Sociology program is available as part of the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences degree program. A major involves taking 24 credits, 15 of which must be upper-division. A minor involves taking 15 credits, six of which must be upper division.

Course Description: A survey of classical and contemporary theories of deviance.
- Soc 361-01: Criminology
Course Description: Crime and society, nature, types and extent of crime; theories of criminality; control of crime.
