Creating Custom Paper Sizes for Epson Printers
When your file is ready to print to a roll of paper or film, it's important to
make sure that you set a paper size that will both conserve material and print
your entire image. Most likely you will need to make a custom paper size.
From the "Print with Preview" dialog box in Photoshop, you can do the following
to set a custom paper size:
- Click "Page Setup"
- Click "Printer" and choose the correct printer (Epson 7600 for this exercise),
then click "Properties"
- Click on the "Paper" tab:
- Under Paper Source, choose Roll Paper.
- Under Paper Size, scroll all the way down and choose "User Defined."
- In the "User Defined" dialog box, you will enter the dimensions of the
paper:
- Paper Width : width of the film/paper roll, in our case 14", entered
as "1400"
- Paper Height : height of your image, plus 1", in this case 5", but
the lowest the printer will let us go is just over 7", so we entered
"717"
- Paper Size Name: something informative, ie "Roll 14x7"
- Don't forget to hit "Save," then "OK"
Now that you have your custom paper size dialed in, there's only one thing
left to do:
- Uncheck "Auto Cut" on the "Paper" tab:

You're done, and ready to print!
