Internship opportunities are available on a limited basis within the context of DTC 476 Digital Literacies. If approved, the internship option allows students to pursue a self-initiated, supervised work experience with an appropriate private organization, businesses, or government agency where they can earn academic credit while gaining valuable professional work experience and contacts. The internship option seeks to enhance students' professional preparation through direct involvement in a field of study; provide a learning environment where students can apply knowledge and skills acquired in their classes; and prepare students to enter professional positions.

DTC internships require 50 hours of documented work for each semester hour earned. Thus 50 hours=1 credit, 100 hours=2 credits, 150 hours=3 credits.

Students considering the internship option must be DTC majors in good academic standing (GPA 3.0 or higher) at the junior or senior level and have completed at least six hours of DTC 300 or 400 level courses.

Additionally, students must, to the approval of the course instructor and DTC Internship Coordinator, complete satisfactorily the following tasks in order to earn their desire academic credit. Anything less will be unsuccessful.

All internships are graded on a Satisfactory/Fail basis. A grade of "Satisfactory" has no positive impact on the student's GPA. A grade of "Fail" will, however, negatively impact the student's GPA.
