Course Overview
This course deals with the concepts, issues and techniques
of new venture creation and entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship deals with all aspects of starting a business and running
it in a changing environment. Entrepreneurs need a variety of business and
personal skills to become successful. Marketing efforts that are tuned to start-ups
are the principal reason for the success or failure of start-up companies.
This course will offer a broad-based collection of skills and experiences to
assist students interested in becoming budding entrepreneurs.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students
will be able to :
- Develop concepts and ideas that will relate to entrepreneurial activities.
Students will develop business ideas that can be potentially turned into active
businesses in the near term.
- Analyze the entrepreneurial idea for its plus and minus points from many
different viewpoints and screen out poor ideas.
- Evaluate entrepreneurial ideas that exist in contemporary business
society.
- Examine and research ideas from the standpoint of firms with similar
ideas that currently exist in the marketplace.
- Understand company formation.
- Appreciate resource requirements.
- Judge the financing needs of companies and search for financing
opportunities.
- Understand how best to obtain debt capital.
- Manage rapid growth after initial success.
- Avoid company failures.
