MgtOp 340 Operations Management
Course Overview
Management of production and service operation with
an emphasis on quality management; planning and control of workflow; resource
allocation, and utilization.
3 credits.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will
be able to do the following:
- Utilize management tools (such as total quality management, supply chain
management, and project management techniques) to continuously improve the processes
that an organization uses to supply goods and/or services.
- Apply analytical skills (such as statistical process control, inventory
models, and forecasting) to evaluate and solve operations management problems.
- Effectively communicate (both in writing and orally) operational problems
and potential solutions to operations managers.
- Calculate how operations affect the performance of an organization.
