IBus 380  International Business

Course Overview
This course is designed to give students in business and other related fields an introduction to the international environment and its impact on business activity. The course will give the student a basic perspective on the global marketplace and will examine international business strategies and their implementation. Key subject areas will be on country market analysis, international trade, international business strategy, and international business operations.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to :

  1. Develop an understanding of the global business environment.

  2. Develop basic geographic knowledge of the international business environment.

  3. Gain an appreciation for and an understanding of the impact cultural and economic differences between countries may have on business strategy.

  4. Gain knowledge of specific international business strategies.

  5. Develop the ability to effectively analyze global events/information and to determine their implications for business.

  6. Learn how to conduct an in-depth analysis of a foreign country as a potential marketplace.
