Course Overview
Raising capital for new enterprises; venture capital, IPOs, debt financing, leasing and valuing start-up ventures.
3 credits.

Course Objectives
It is expected that at the conclusion of the course, students will be able to:

  1. Understand types of organizations, business and financial plan requirements; measures used in financial plans and how to evaluate financial plans.

  2. Understand how to determine the cost of capital and create the financial plan to value a venture.

  3. Understand the types of financing available, the pros and cons of each, and how to evaluate the best source of financing for the venture.

Acctg 231, Fin 325.
