345 Real Estate
Course Overview
This course will introduce the student to the economic and financial forces determining
land utilization. An understanding of these principles is important for the real
estate student to function adequately within the contemporary disciplines of
finance, law, valuation and investment, development and sales, and planning.
The student is expected to become familiar with the laws and practices of real
estate within Washington. Emphasis is placed on the applications of concepts
as opposed to theoretical issues only.
3 credits.
Course Objectives
This course will integrate a broad spectrum of theory and practice to achieve the following:
- Acquaint the student with necessary analytical tools to understand and function
in contemporary real estate markets.
- Introduce the economic forces of demand and supply, as well as non-market factors such as police power regulation and the power of eminent domain, and their influence on land use.
- Analyze the steps of a real estate transaction.
- Illustrate current technology for finding solutions to common real estate
problems.
- Integrate current data and information from the Internet into the classroom.

B Law 210, Econ 102, Fin 325.
