Course Overview
Government and Not-for-Profit (GNP) organizations represent the largest and fastest growing segment of our economy. The course is designed to introduce you to the external reporting practices, and the managerial accounting issues for these entities. You should leave this course with the ability to prepare and analyze a set of GNP financial statements, and have a basic understanding of the accounting issues facing managers in GNP organizations.
3 credits.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

Gain a general understanding of GNP accounting and budgeting processes.
Understand the difference between government wide versus fund accounting procedures.
Prepare and analyze GNP financial statements.

Course Prerequisites
Acctg 331 (Please note that prerequisites are strictly enforced and that students will be disenrolled if they do not have course prerequisites.)
