Foreign Languages and Cultures
Placement
All four language skills are practiced in every foreign language course - speaking, listening comprehension, reading and writing. Some courses may emphasize one skill over another, but the curriculum is designed to at least touch upon each of the four skills regularly.Placement in a foreign language course is always best done with a placement exam and/or in consultation with the instructor. As a starting point, however, the following guidelines may assist students in initial placement.
