ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF WSU VANCOUVER (ASWSUV) Back To Top

360-546-9520

Each currently registered student at WSU Vancouver is a member of ASWSUV, the student government body. Students are represented through an elected student senate, an appointed judicial board, and an executive staff consisting of a president (elected), vice president (elected), activities director, public relations director, and IT director. Together the senate and executive staff develop the ASWSUV budget funded through Services and Activities (S&A) Fees. Based on this budget, they plan and implement social, recreational, and cultural programs.

ASWSUV serves the student body by representing student needs, providing major social events such as the winter banquet and the Back-to-School BBQ, special speakers, discounted tickets on a variety of local entertainment venues and programming funds for Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs). The ASWSUV Office is located in the Firstenburg Student Commons.

STUDENT MEDICAL INSURANCE Back To Top

360-546-9559

Students enrolled in seven or more credit hours are eligible for student medical insurance. International students must provide proof of insurance or must purchase insurance through WSU. To request the medical insurance, students can use myWSU or obtain an enrollment form from the Office of Student Services (Student Services Center). Coverage requested for a full year begins the Sunday before fall term and ends the Saturday before fall term a year later. Students enrolling after the first day of class, but during the enrollment period, will have coverage beginning on the date following enrollment. To avoid gaps in coverage, it is important to enroll before the Sunday that precedes the beginning of fall term. A gap in coverage could result in nonpayment of claims for pre-existing conditions.

The final date for premium payment corresponds with the deadline for paying tuition (see the academic calendar). For enrollment/cancel deadlines and policies or for more information, visit www. wsu.edu/benefits/studentins/.
