WSU President Elson Floyd Will Speak at Vancouver Campus Commencement

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Washington State University Vancouver will honor the 768 members of the class of 2009 at its annual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m. at The Amphitheater at Clark County. The 20th class from WSU Vancouver includes 657 undergraduates and 111 graduate students. The guest speaker will be WSU President Elson Floyd; commencement is also the official launch of WSU Vancouver's 20th anniversary celebration.

The numbers of students receiving graduate degrees at the ceremony will be:
- Doctor of Education, 3
- Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology, 1
- Master of Business Administration, 9
- Master of Education, 23
- Master in Teaching, 25
- Master of Science in Engineering and Architecture, 3
- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, 3
- Master of Arts in History, 1
- Master of Public Affairs, 3
- Master of Nursing, 32
- Master of Science in Environmental Science, 7
- Master of Science in Zoology, 1

Commencement is expected to last an hour and a half to two hours in the outdoor setting of the amphitheater. Tickets are not required. Rehearsal is planned for 3 p.m. Friday, May 15, also at the Clark County Amphitheater. Parking is free for the rehearsal and commencement. Limited special accommodations for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) persons as well as other mobility-impaired persons will be available at commencement. Guests should be aware there is a walking distance between the parking lot and amphitheater. Accommodations are available for deaf and hearing impaired guests.
