VANCOUVER, Wash. - Students as well as members of the community can learn about South Central Asian life, quilts, mountain climbing, fair trade, and more at the "Three Cups of Tea" Bazaar, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 10, in the Firstenburg Student Commons at Washington State University Vancouver.
The bazaar is the first in a list of activities this year supporting the freshman reading project, "Three Cups of Tea," by Greg Mortenson and Portland's David Oliver Relin.
Visitors to the bazaar can hear Mohammad Saeed Rahman give the keynote address on Pakistan and the One Ummah Foundation, at 12:30 p.m. in the commons.
The bazaar will feature chai tea, henna tattoos, and the chance to shop for scarves, jewelry and other unique items.
WSU Vancouver will host a discussion with the book's writer, David Oliver Relin, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., free and open to the public.
