VANCOUVER, Wash. - Selected artworks from the Northwest Oil Painters Guild are currently on display at Washington State University Vancouver through Nov. 14. The exhibition will be in both the Administration Building Gallery and in the Engineering Life Sciences building.
The primary goal of the Northwest Oil Painters Guild is to support and encourage their member artists. Their website http://www.oilpaintersguild.com/ is designed to generate a wider interest in oil painting. The site is a vehicle to educate while also portraying the work of our members.
The Oil Painters Guild offers a broad range of styles, techniques and genres. There is a growing group of artists within NOPG who are attracted to Plein-Air painting, or painting outdoors. The guild says of Plein-Air paintings, "With the beauty of the Pacific Northwest at our door step, many of us feel compelled to experience nature's colors firsthand."
Entry to campus exhibits is free. WSU Vancouver galleries are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Parking is available at parking meters or in the blue lot for $3 per day.
WSU Vancouver is located at 14204 NE Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205, or via C-Tran bus service. We offer 16 bachelor's degrees, nine master's degrees, one doctorate degree and more than 36 fields of study. Visit us on the Web at www.vancouver.wsu.edu.
