Construction Closes Some Campus Paths Until Aug. 8
The Undergraduate Classroom construction project will require significant modification to the pathways and hillside on the south and east of the project. To achieve completion of this modification prior to Fall Semester the pathways from the Annex, Salmon Creek, Loop Road bridge, and near the "Women Who Weld" art structure will be closed without access to campus from July 7 through August 8, 2008. The construction company will place closure signs on the pathways indicating "PATHWAY CLOSED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION, NO CAMPUS ACCESS".
This pathway closure will affect walkers or bikers to campus who use the pathway from Salmon Creek Ave/134th St by the wailing bell or from the Loop road bridge and Annex building. The paths will NOT reach the Campus core during the closure period.
Recommended Detours:
- Access the campus pathway that passes the Sport Court from 29th Avenue
- Use the pathway from 50th Avenue at 159th St
See campus map below indicating the location of the construction site, pathway closures, and recommended detour options for pedestrians and cyclists.
Please try to limit bike and foot traffic along the main entrance road from Salmon Creek Avenue as there are no shoulders or sidewalks on that roadway and visibility for motorists is limited due to the hill and curves on the roadway.
WSU Vancouver regrets inconvenience caused by construction.
