Washington State University Vancouver is hosting a banquet to raise awareness about local and global poverty issues 7 - 8 p.m. Friday, July 10 in the Firstenburg Student Commons. This event is free and open to the public.
WSU Vancouver Offers New Online Deaf Education Program

Washington State University Vancouver will now offer a fall-start option for its new Online Deaf Education Endorsement in addition to the summer-start program now in session. The program is designed for teachers and education students who want to expand their career opportunities with the ability to teach children with hearing loss. Deaf education is a growing field and teachers are currently needed.

Community Leaders Discuss Impacts of the Economic Crisis at Forum

Leaders from throughout Southwest Washington will participate in a forum focused on the health impacts of the economic crisis on low-income people and people of color. Initiated and sponsored by Washington State University Vancouver’s Center for Social and Environmental Justice (CSEJ), the forum will be held Saturday, June 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Vancouver Community Library located at 1007 E. Mill Plain Boulevard. This event is free and open to the public.
WSU Vancouver Students Launch New Website for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington

Students from the Digital Technology and Culture (DTC) Program at Washington State University Vancouver launched a new website for the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Washington on June 16. The website was produced during the Senior Seminar in spring 2009. The website was designed to provide the public with general information about the organization and to develop interest and support from the community.

Washington State University Vancouver will host a meeting for neighbors and interested community members to share the latest information from new degrees to new construction projects. The meeting will be held from 4:30 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 in the Administration building, room 129. Parking is free in Orange Lots 1 and 3. This event is free and open to the public.

Washington State University Vancouver nursing staff and students will hold their fifth annual sports and camp physical exams clinic, 12:30 to 5 p.m. June 17 at Battle Ground High School. Students from any middle school or high school may participate. The cost is $15.

The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA), awarded Washington State University Vancouver Research Assistant, Niel Hayes, the Research Assistant Excellence Award for his work on Global Warming. This is the first time a Vancouver student has received this award.
WSU Vancouver Professor Moderating NW Workplace Violence Conference

Assistant Professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Armando Estrada, from Washington State University Vancouver will moderate the Northwest Workplace Violence Conference from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Monday, June 15 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Ore. The two-day conference is from 8 - 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, June 15 - 16.
