Welcome current and prospective students!
Washington State University Vancouver has been authorized to offer four-year degrees for its program offerings beginning in the fall of 2006. Offerings will include lower division courses to support most of WSU Vancouver's current programs, including bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Biology. Students now have the option of applying directly to WSU Vancouver as a freshman for Fall 2006.
As a result, the lower division partnership Clark College and Lower Columbia College shared with the WSU Vancouver Engineering and Science Institute will no longer admit freshman students. We will, however, honor the commitment to those students who began taking Institute classes fall 2005, through 2006-2007. WSU Vancouver, Clark College, and Lower Columbia College remain committed partners who shall encourage students majoring in science and engineering fields.
Current students
Through the 2006-2007 academic year, students currently in the “Institute” programs will be completing the coursework and transferring into the upper division program of their choice.
Prospective Students
If you are a student interested in obtaining a four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Biology (including those students considering medical, dental, veterinary or other professional school) you have several options to choose from in Southwest Washington.
- Apply directly to Washington State University Vancouver by completing an on-line application. Complete all coursework for your degree at WSU Vancouver.
- Apply to either Clark College ( http://www.clark.edu ) or Lower Columbia College http://www.lcc.ctc.edu ) and take appropriate courses to transfer as a 2+2 student to WSU Vancouver.
Co-admission agreements (http://www.vancouver.wsu.edu/ads/coadmiss-define.htm ) between each of the two community colleges and WSU Vancouver provide students with the opportunity for a smooth transition from the lower to the upper division.
Clark College will be offering appropriate transfer courses in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Biology at the Clark Center on the WSU Vancouver campus as well as on Clark College's main campus.
Students who meet admission requirements and are interested in transferring into the sophomore year of the existing partnership program in fall of 2006, are encouraged to contact their current major advisor or Cindy Morical, (360) 546-9102, morical@vancouver.wsu.edu, for more information.
Please contact an admissions advisor to discuss the appropriate choice for you!
