Here's the general information for the list you've subscribed to, in case you don't already have it:
This list server will provide two benefits for MIS students:
1. If you have never used a listserv before, this is an opportunity to experience it. If you have, this is your opportunity to experiment.
2. We can use this listserv for MIS in the way that list servers are intended to be used. Prior to "tele"-things such as telephone and television people used to tell each other news by meeting " on the commons" or other public place. News and discussions were held (same time/same place) among people in attendance.
Please use this listserv as the "MIS Commons" for different time/same place discussion of topics that you feel are important to everyone affiliated with MIS this semester. Examples of topics of discussions could include clarifications of material that you might find different between the lectures and the book; clarifications of material that you might find different between the lectures and your own work experience; questions about the material that you may have wanted to ask in class but didn't have the opportunity to do so; and topics that you have read about in newspapers or magazines that you feel are pertinent to MIS 372.
Topics that are NOT suitable for discussions using a listserv are topics that you would not normally discuss in the open classroom.
When in doubt, e-mail orwig@wsu.edu or
