Information for Prospective Graduate Students

With my current research grants, I am looking for graduate students to work in my lab. I am looking for students who are excited by discovering how the brain processes communication sounds. A background in Neuroscience would be great, but really what I want are motivated, intelligent, capable and fun people. A dynamic and fun environment continues to be a key factor in the success of my lab.

Working in my lab, you will gain experience in current electrophysiological, neuroanatomical and behavioral techniques. You will be exposed to top scientists in the field through my collaborations and by attending National and International meetings. I can provide you with a dynamic lab where we conduct state-of-the-art research in a small group environment.
If you are interested in graduate studies in my lab, you should:

  1. Review my current research interests.
  2. Check out some of my pubs.
  3. Email me and include the following:
    • A statement of why you want to attend graduate school and why my lab is a good fit for you.
    • Your GPA and GRE scores (including your percentile scores, not just the raw scores).
    • A C.V. (include education, work experience and any published papers).
    • Coursework in Biology, Neuroscience and/or related fields.
  4. Check out the following links for Graduate Programs.

Undergraduate

Undergraduate students who carry out experiments in my lab will:

  • write and submit a University funded undergraduate grant proposal
  • present their work at a National scientific meeting (e.g. Society for Neuroscience)
  • be involved in the process of publishing the study
