I am a Professor of Management and Operations. I received my Ph.D. in
Business Administration (1988) from the University
of California at Berkeley and my MBA and Bachelor's degrees
(Economics) (1978) from the University of
California, Los Angeles. My research is directed to the
intersection of institutional theory, business ethics, and
leadership/governance of organizations.
I have presented papers at the Academy of Management, Society for
Business Ethics, and Strategic Management Society national/international
meetings and organizational theory conferences at the University of Michigan, University of Oregon, and Stanford University.
My work has been published in such
journals as Academy
of Management Journal,
Administrative Science Quarterly , Organization Science, Strategic
Management Journal, Business Ethics Quarterly, and in books such as
Research in Organizational Behavior, and Research in Corporate Social
Performance and Policy. I currently teach courses in the areas of
business policy and strategy, and business ethics. I have served on the
editorial board of the Academy
of Management Journal
(1995 -1999) and Administrative Science Quarterly (1996 - 2005). I am
currently Associate Editor for Journal of Management (2006 - 2008)
