Current Research

Dr. Ernst-Slavit's research is theoretically driven and involves the application of detailed and systematic methods derived from sociolinguistic and ethnographic perspectives. Her work can be organized around three main areas of specialization:

  • Research on Academic Language in K-12 Classrooms
  • Teacher Preparation for Multilingual/Multicultural Settings
  • Research and Practice for English Language Learners
