Dr.
Ernst-Slavit
is a Professor of Education
and the Coordinator of the ESL Program at Washington
State University Vancouver. She teaches courses in sociolinguistics,
literacy, bilingual, and ESL education. Her

She
is the Director of the TEAMS project (TEAMS in ESL for Achievement in Member Schools), a Title III grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education. This
program was designed
to address a critical shortage of ESL teachers in
the Southwest Washington area. She is a past president of WAESOL (Washington State
English to Speakers of Other Languages).
