Web Site Usability Tests

Hi, my name is __________________________ and this is ___________________________. We are librarians here at WSU and will be facilitating today’s session. We are glad that you have volunteered; your contribution will be very valuable.

You are here today to help us test the usability of the WSU Libraries Web site. It is important to us that people are able to easily locate information on this Web site. We need to determine which areas of the WSU Libraries Web site need improvement.

During today's session you will be given a list of 15-20 words or phrases that we use as labels for information available on the WSU Libraries Web site. We are trying to determine if the terminology used on our Web site is understandable.

We want you to know that YOU are not being tested. This is not a reflection on your skills or abilities. We are testing the WSU Libraries Web site, not you.

It is okay to ask questions during this session. We may not be able to answer them – if we think that the answer will give you more information than the average Web searcher would have – but it is okay to ask.

Do you have any questions for us before we begin?

Let's look at the instructions together. [Refer to the category membership instructions].
