Research Showcase 2008

Washington State University Vancouver faculty, staff, and students will present original scholarship, research, or artistic expression at the university’s Research Showcase 2008.
This event will provide an opportunity for the university to celebrate the achievements of individuals engaged in the advancement of scholarship, research and the arts. Accepted work will be displayed for the campus community to view and/or interact with throughout the day. Additional events include:
12 p.m. - A talk by WSU Vancouver Faculty Dr. Tamara Nelson and Dr. David Slavit on “Collaborative teacher research: Does it improve teaching and learning?” at 12 pm in VMMC 6.
4 p.m. - An Awards Ceremony and Reception from 4-5:30 pm in the Firstenburg Student Commons.
7 p.m. - A keynote address by Dr. Jerry Franklin, recipient of the Heinz award for the Environment and Professor, College of Forest Resources at the University of Washington. Franklin, dubbed the “guru of old-growth forests,” will discuss his research in forest ecology and how it is transforming forest management to better sustain America’s forests. The keynote address will take place at 7 pm in VADM 110.
