UPDATE: Keynote Panel

Keynote speaker Stephen Bezruchka is ill and will be unable to present at the afternoon session. Instead, the conference will conclude with a keynote panel from 3:45-4:45 focused on "Policy Advocacy Strategies that Work."

The panel will be moderated by Jeri Sundvall-Williams (City of Portland Office of Neighborhood Involvement), and will feature, among others, Marcus Mundy, Director of the Portland Urban League; Ellen Pinney, Executive Director Oregon Health Action Campaign; Barbe West, Executive Director, Community Choices; and Diana Rashid of Washington Community Action Network.

Topics

Focusing on regional health issues in Washington and Oregon, and in Clark and Multnomah Counties in particular, with emphasis on minority health issues and culturally specific health care. Panel topics include:

Continuing Education

Conference participants will receive 5.75 contact hours provided by the WSU Intercollegiate College of Nursing (PA-44/Aug/2010).

The WSU ICN is an approved provider of continuing education by the Washington State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission of Accreditation. The College of Nursing is also an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing provider number CEP#10888.
